Recommended Actions
- Deploy Windows 11 cumulative updates released October 13, 2026 or later via WSUS or endpoint management tools to all affected systems
- For AVD environments unable to patch immediately, apply Known Issue Rollback group policies: KB5124006 (26H1), KB5124010 (24H2/25H2), then restart devices
- Communicate manual workaround to affected users: launch Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), select 'Run new task', enter 'explorer.exe', click OK
- Monitor application event logs for Windows Explorer crash events to identify impacted systems requiring remediation
- Prioritize patching for Azure Virtual Desktop hosts running FSLogix profile containers
